My late Grandfather, Veerland Taylor, retired in 1982 from the Royal Canadian Navy after 25 years of service. He served Canada as a Weapons Technician throughout the Cold War years. The majority of his service years were on six-month deployments overseas from Nova Scotia. He also served two years in Ottawa at HMCS Carleton.
