I can’t believe how young my dad looks and him wanting to go to war to stop Hitler.  I’m very fortunate that him and his friend came home.  My dad was in the Navy on a mine sweeper.   Later in life he had COPD from working the boiler room and shovelling coal.  He never wanted to talk about the war but loved keeping in contact with all the men he meet and stayed friends with.  They’re the only ones who would know what it was like to be there fighting and lucky to come home and then having to find a job right away.

Such a sacrifice they all made. It’s nice they have have Solider On to help them get back on their feet after they return to civilian life.

Love this race,
