Gordon Ernest Pratt was born on a farm in North Gower, Ontario in 1921. He had three brothers and one sister. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1941, was initially an air gunner and was promoted to Pilot Officer. His plane, a Wellington bomber, was on operations over the North Sea. He and the crew were listed as missing in action on October 4, 1944. His name is on the Runnymede Memorial in the UK, the Book of Remembrance on Parliament Hill and on a family headstone in a cemetery at Malakoff, near North Gower.
