As a former CAF member from 1989-2018, I’m honoured to introduce you to mother in-law’s father, Tpr. Harold Slingsby. Tpr. Slingsby served as a Tank driver from 1941-45 with the 1st Hussars, B. Sqn in NW Europe, D-Day. I never had the pleasure to have met Harold but have heard many stories from my wife and mother in-law. As with most Veterans of the great wars, Harold kept his experiences during the war to himself. Rather concentrate his energy on his family. We’ve participated in the Army Run as a family from almost the beginning of its conception. We run for Harold, our two boys and brother (in-law), who are currently serving.
