Thomas C. Raeside was my Grandad.
Mr. Raeside served in the CAF for the following units:
1st Hussars 1941-45 (was in the D-Day invasion)
Royal Canadian Dragoons 1949-57
Fort Garry Horse 1957-72 (Retied as Warrant Officer, Class 2)
Corporal Raeside was badly wounded on August 14th in the Battle of the Falaise Gap. He spent 8 months in a hospital in England. After his time in hospital, he served in Holland and served as a crew commander.
