Starling Omar Morris enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1916 and commendably served with distinction. He was placed within the 3rd Division and saw combat in multiple renowned battles including Ypres, Hill 70, Marne, Amiens, and most notably, Passchendaele. It was here that he was awarded for coolness under fire. By the summer of 1918, the city of Kingston, Ontario experienced a shortage of doctors and Private Morris was given the opportunity to return home to study medicine at Queen’s University. After graduating with a medical degree in 1923, Starling Omar Morris began a long and rewarding career as a doctor and had cemented a remarkable legacy.
