My name is Céline Leclerc, and I am registered to the in-person half marathon. Simon Girard is my nephew, and I would like to commemorate his passing. He was a member of the Army, and he was struggling mentally after spending a few years in Afghanistan. He got help from professionals, but, unfortunately, he committed suicided the day following Remembrance Day. He died November 12, 2016, and I and his family will cherish the time we had with him even though it was a short period.
