
Flying Officer Edward Charles Baker, born 15th of October 1920 in Toronto. Volunteered in the RCAF and served honourably from the 10th of April 1941 until November 12th 1945. Enlisting as a Gunner & flying aboard many of the bomber aircraft Canada used during World War 2, he served his country & family proudly, earning the 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & the War Medal 1939-45. Surviving being shot down late in the war, he came back to Toronto to settle in and raise a family, instilling much of the attitude that gives the family a close-knit, kindhearted & resilient mentality to this day. Remembered by his daughter & grandkids who love him dearly.
