Following in the footsteps of his father, Ray enlisted in the Army in the late ‘60s and has served in various roles with various units during his service years. First with RCR (CFB Petawawa, ON), and then 3rd Canadian Mechanized Commando (CFB Baden, Germany). Later on in his career he ventured into the Medical Field and was stationed at NDMC in Ottawa, then CFB Gypsumville (MB), and then to CFB Esquimalt (Victoria, BC) where he remustered over to the Navy. Final postings included CFB Petawawa (ON) with 2 Service Battalion, a 2nd posting back in Ottawa and lastly CFB Borden (ON) where he retired at the rank of PO 2 shortly afterwards around ’95. Sadly, Ray passed away unexpectedly Nov 9, 1997 at the young age of 50 and has been greatly missed by all.
