Dean E. Yowell
15 October 1928 – 15 May 2020

Dad enlisted in the US Navy as an IC (Internal Communications) Electrician during the Korean War, serving aboard the USS Seminole and the USS Frontier.

After being wounded in 1952 and honourably discharged, he returned to Colorado Springs and resumed his career with the telephone company, completing 35 years’ service. He loved the outdoors and was a proud member of the International Order of Rocky Mountain Goats and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 309. He served his country proudly, just as his father (and my grandfather, Edward S. Yowell, Company G, 41st Infantry) did during World War I. I’m proud to have carried on the family tradition of service.
