Michael Paupst

Michael J. Paupst was born the 3 January 1966. He attended the Royal Roads Military College pursuing a bachelor’s in physics and computer science in British Columbia. He competed in various sports such as wrestling, and volleyball, winning third in track and field as a javelin thrower. Upon graduating, he pursued pilot training in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan as an officer. He would later complete his flying instructor’s course and earn the title of Snapper for the new candidates, and then aircraft commander of the Auroras patrolling on both the east and west coasts. Michael pursued a variety of jobs such as ski patroller and auxiliary firefighter, always striving to do the best in what he loved to do. He would often go above and beyond to help others, earning recognition, honor, and respect. Father and husband, Maj Paupst was a good man and has been dearly missed since June 1st 2007 (aged 42 years). His son became the Commanding Officer of one of the largest Cadet Corps in Canada, while his daughter is now a trained Private in the Infantry; all fostering his legacy
