I am running in honour of Corporal James Arthur McAlpine. Although I did not have the privilege of knowing him personally, I grew up hearing his story through my father, who was a childhood friend, and through the many people whose lives he touched. His passing at such a young age left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him. His courage, resilience, and perseverance continue to inspire others to this day. It is in honour of his legacy and the strength he left behind that I find the motivation to push myself throughout this race.
