Jonathan Couturier was a good childhood friend. We went to the same school, grew up together, and served together. He served with the 2nd Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment (Vandoos), based in Valcartier, Québec.
On September 17th, 2009, during his deployment on Roto 07 (1-09), while on patrol in the Panjwayi District of Kandahar Province, his Light Armoured Vehicle III struck an improvised explosive device (IED). The blast killed him and injured 11 other occupants.
I want him to be remembered and never forgotten.
