Captain Hakan “Hawk” Haytaoglu dedicated 35 years to serving our country as a pilot in the RCAF of 426, 437, and 434 Squadrons, and also as Pilot Instructor. Proud husband to Maura-Jo Kennedy Haytaoglu and father to Drew and Hanna.
We would like to honor him in the Remembrance Row because he has been a great friend and a true hero to many. A career cut short due to his diagnosis, and treatment of Neuroendocrine Carcinoma which was stage 4, terminal.
He passed away with the family by his side on July 12, 2025 in Trenton, Ontario.
I am running this race to remember him and all the men and women in uniform who had to give up so much time away from their families. Sadly after such a great career, he had to fly away again so soon.
