In Memory of Cadet Master Corporal Véronique Duhaime
2010 – 2025
Véronique lived in a neighborhood where no school-aged friends lived on her street. As parents, we knew it can be boring on those weekends without any friends. Her mother mentioned Cadets and the possibility of making new friends outside of school hours.
We looked into it, and Véronique was very interested, but only Army. At that age, she was into the colour green, and that became the sole reason for joining the Army Cadets.
Within the first year of joining, she met so many new friends and couldn’t wait to have our weekly meetings. As parents, we noticed how it gave her confidence and how she started to blossom as an adolescent.
One day, for no particular reason while her mother was cooking, she just burst out with pride at how much she loved the Cadets. She just beamed with joy, and everything was about the 3018 Army Cadets.
From a distance, as a father, no greater joy can be given to me than to see such happiness in your child.
