Gilbert “Bud” Gagnon was a Korean War veteran serving on HMCS Iroquois and then Ontario from 1952 to 1957. Got the nickname Bud on the boats, as he went to the west coast to learn English and it made everyone’s life easier to call him that, a nickname that stood for life. He later served with the Montreal Police Department from 1957 to 1987. Bud passed away on July 17, 2024, with his family by his side.
