Support Our Troops

Fundraising efforts from Canada Army Run support Soldier On and the Support Our Troops fund – official funds of the Canadian Armed Forces that provide assistance to ill and injured soldiers and military families in need.

Help make a difference!

Since 2008, through proceeds and the fundraising efforts of participants, Canada Army Run has contributed over $3 million to Soldier On and the Support Our Troops fund for programs that help ill and injured soldiers and military families in need. On behalf of our men and women in uniform – who do so much to keep us safe at home and abroad – THANK YOU! We are hoping to make our largest contribution ever this year and would love your help!

How can you help?

By fundraising for Canada Army Run, you will help make a difference in the lives of our military members in need. Upon registration, a fundraising page is automatically set up for you. If you’ve started to use it, that’s fantastic. Thank you! If you haven’t, it’s not too late. Details on how to get started are below. For a bit of fun, we’ve added a new feature to our fundraising platform. By default, all registrants are assigned the rank of fundraising “Recruit”. As you raise funds, you will be promoted up the ranks – all the way up to General – and a picture of the new rank badge will appear on your fundraising page.

Accessing and personalizing your fundraising page

When you registered, a Fundraising Page was automatically created. All you need to do is personalize it! Add a photo if you like, set a fundraising goal and add a message. Then, invite your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours to pledge you.

  1. Go to Race Roster:
  2. Click Sign In on the top right-hand corner
  3. Once you sign in, click Menu on the top right-hand corner
  4. Scroll down and click Share Pledge Page and you will land on your pledge page for Canada Army Run
  5. To the right, click Edit Page and make any updates you would like. You can add a pledge goal, a message, and/or an image
  6. Once you are finished, click Save Updated Pledge Information.

Sharing your personal fundraising page

Once you’ve customized your fundraising page, it’s time to share it!

  1. Go to your personal pledge page (see above for instructions)
  2. You will see four buttons that you can click to share via Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and/or email
  3. Click on the method you’d like to use to share your message, customize your message and share away!

THANKS to all our participants, fundraisers, sponsors, volunteers and everyone else who makes it possible for use to contribute to Soldier On and the Support Our Troops fund. Together, we ARE making a difference!

Support Our Troops

By participating in the Army Run, you Stand With Us. The women and men who serve our country face unique challenges – so do their families. Together we can ensure that these extraordinary women and men, and the military families who make sacrifices and carry the weight while their loved ones are away, receive the morale and wellness support they need.

Frequent absences, relocations and the risks associated with the profession of arms are hallmarks of military life, and can greatly affect our families.

For Canadian Armed Forces members and their families, it’s the combination of these three scenarios that make military life vastly different from most Canadians. And so, unique needs and challenges arise as a result. In some cases, it may mean financial hardships, for some it’s a toll on their mental health, and for others it may mean specific accommodations to deal with a special needs dependent, an illness, injury or even death.

Donations to Support Our Troops go directly to programs that care for the ill and injured, and contribute to empowering family resiliency.

Thank you for standing with us. Because of you, Canadian Armed Forces members maintain the same pride, courage and dignity that they bring to the frontline.

About Support Our Troops: Support Our Troops is an official qualified donee of Her Majesty in right of Canada for the Canadian Armed Forces community; managed and operated by Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services. It was established to meet the unique needs and special challenges faced by members of the Canadian Armed Forces community as a result of military service. It provides a platform to allow a range of supporters to show their care, compassion and support to serving members, veterans and their families.

Soldier On was created in 2006 with the aim of supporting ill and injured military personnel with a permanent or chronic disability, both still serving and retired, and their families to attain an active and healthy lifestyle. It supports these personnel in increasing their independence, in developing new skills, in achieving goals and opening the door to other life opportunities. It furnishes an opportunity for them to socialize and explore common interests, and share learning experiences. Learn More.
