Run our unique challenge distances as part of your virtual race! Due to the nature of the virtual race platform we are unable to host the 5K+10K and 5K+21.1K challenges as normal. We have maintained the total distance as a single race option, and increased the merchandise for those who want to go further!

Please note that challenge distances will only receive the one coin specific to that distance.

  1. You may complete your virtual race at any time during the race completion window. You will receive an email when the race has begun with a link to start your race.
  2. You may re-attempt your race as many times as you want during the completion window.

Via the ASICS Runkeeper App:

  1. To complete your virtual race with the Runkeeper app, you will need to download the app and create a free Runkeeper account prior to racing.
  2. You will receive an email when the completion window has begun. This email will have a “Start Virtual Run” button. You can also find the button on your Race Roster Participant Dashboard.
  3. Once selected, the Runkeeper app will automatically launch.
  4. Select “Start your race” on the app, and start racing!

Via a Connected GPS Device:

  1. To complete your virtual race with a GPS device, you will need to connect it to the Runkeeper app. You will need to download the app and create a free Runkeeper account prior to racing. You can connect your device to the app through the app settings.
  2. You will receive an email when the completion window has begun. This email will have a “Start Virtual Run” button. You can also find the button on your Race Roster Participant Dashboard.
  3. Once selected, the Runkeeper app will automatically launch.
  4. Select “Link recent activity” on the app, and select the appropriate activity to act as your virtual race.
  5. The selected activity must already be on your Runkeeper profile, so please ensure you are already connected to the app prior to your race attempt.

Manual Time Upload:

  1. Go to the results page of the event you’re participating in.
  2. From the results page, click the “Submit a virtual result” button.
  3. To confirm your registration enter in your last name and confirmation number, or by signing into your Race Roster account.
  4. Once your registration is confirmed, you will be prompted to enter your results and the results of anyone else that was included in your initial registration. You are able to come back at a later time to post additional results.
  5. After your results are submitted, you will be able to view your results details and finisher certificate. Click on your name for your result details and finishers’ certificate.
  • Do not gather in groups to complete your virtual race.
  • Respect local bylaw and pedestrian laws when training and racing.
  • Avoid areas with higher pedestrian traffic, such as city sidewalks or popular trails. Prepare to change your route if your planned route is too congested.
  • Only pass people when safe. Slow down or stop when it is unsafe to pass.
  • Where a mask or face covering when running in higher density areas.
  • Wear high-visibility clothing whenever possible, and always be mindful of vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Please note that posted registration fees do not include HST or Race Roster service charges.
  • Only online purchases will be accepted. We will not accept cash, cheque or any in-person payments

2017 saw the launch of Remembrance Row, presented in partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion – a moving on-course feature that showcases photographs of veterans who have passed as a way to honour loved ones that served.

With our 2020 Virtual Race, we are continuing our tradition with a digital version of Remembrance Row

To Enter Your Submission:

  1. You must be a registered participant to be eligible
  2. Visit our instructions page and complete the Remembrance Row submission on our Fanomena page
  3. Submissions must include photos to be accepted. Stories are optional.

Important Information:

  • Submissions must be completed by a registered participant in the 2020 Canada Army Run Virtual event.
  • All submissions must be reviewed and approved by Canada Army Run
  • Inappropriate content and conduct will not be accepted or tolerated by Canada Army Run
  • The deadline for submissions is midnight EST, August 31, 2020
  • Remembrance Row will be open for participant viewing from September 8-25, 2020
  • Only “Information”-style content will be accepted. Other formats will not be accepted

Visibility and Information Sharing

  • Only Canada Army Run will view and approve submissions
  • Submissions will be visible to all participants and general public as a live event page
  • Submission content may be used for promotional purposes on Canada Army Run or Canadian Army social media
  • Participants may be contacted for additional information to share your story
