About Canada Army Run
Canada Army Run is the fastest growing run in Canada and unlike any other run in the country. From the cannon used as a starter’s pistol to the “dog-tag” medals all participants receive when they cross the finish line, Canada Army Run is military in flavour end-to-end. Military bands, Army equipment displays, and a pasta dinner served military field-kitchen style make for a weekend you won’t soon forget!
More importantly, though, the event provides an opportunity for the Army to thank Canadians for their support, and a chance for Canadians to say thanks to the men and women who serve them in so many ways at home and abroad.
Fundraising efforts benefit SoldierOn and the Military Families Fund.
Register here to walk, run, or roll in the 5K or half marathon events. |

Many Stories. One Inspiring Run
MCpl Chris Downey
(center) |
People run, walk, or roll in Canada Army Run for many different reasons. MCpl Chris Downey is running for his best friend, PO2 Craig Blake, who was killed in Afghanistan in May this year by a roadside bomb. Brenda, who respects and appreciates “what our Canadian Forces do for our country,” is running the 5K“to support these amazing men and women.” And Mila, the mother of two soldiers, says it’s her “duty to be part of such an important event.” Read these stories and many others in the Stories section on our website. We’d also love to hear your story. Click here to tell us why you run, walk or roll in Canada Army Run. back to top » |

The 2010 Summer Kandahar Airfield (KAF) Army Run
Braving the blazing summer heat, more than 750 runners and 80 volunteers participated in the 2010 Summer KAF Army Run, held in Afghanistan June 6. A prequel to September’s Canada Army Run in Ottawa, this was the largest running event ever held at KAF and included both a 5K and half-marathon. Thanks to many generous donations, organizers raised $11,235 USD for local schools in villages like Mullah Abdullah Kariz, located just 4.5 km north-west of KAF.
