Who can attend the Ball?
The Army Ball is open to serving and retired Canadian military personnel (officers and non-commissioned members), corporate partners who serve and support the Army, invited members of foreign armed forces, police services and diplomatic corps. Please note however that demand will exceed ticket availability. Advance priority will be given to serving Army personnel. See ticket information for more details.
What should I wear to the Ball?
Military dress is Dress No. 2 (Mess Dress/Formal Highland Dress); equivalent civilian dress is black tie (tuxedo) for men and long (below the knee) evening gown for ladies.
New for 2020: The Commander of the Canadian Army has given blanket authority for retired members to wear their Mess Dress to the Army Ball should they so desire.
How much does it cost?
Tickets are $145 + HST each or $280 + HST per couple.
What is included with my ticket?
Tickets include a four course gourmet meal, red and white wine at your table, one complimentary drink per person, one complimentary 5x7 photo (per individual or couple ticket) and a souvenir gift (per individual or couple ticket).
How and when can I purchase tickets?
Advance ticket sales for serving Army personnel (2 tickets) will commence on Monday February 3rd, 2020 at 0800 hrs.
Regular ticket sales will commence on Tuesday February 4th, 2020 at 0800 hrs.

Can I get a refund?
Tickets sales are FINAL except in the case of authorized short-notice deployment on operations.
Can I sit with my friends or affiliated branch, directorate, unit or regiment?
Yes. Please indicate on your ticket order form with whom you wish to sit and every effort will be made to accommodate your request. Tables are in rounds of ten. If you provide ten names they will be automatically seated together. Groups of less than ten will be seated with other groups, pairs or single persons to total ten at each table. Affiliated group tables will be seated in close proximity of one another. Due to the complexity of the seating plan, your final table assignment and table number will not be known to you until you arrive at the Ball.
Can one person submit multiple forms by fax/email for all the persons wishing to sit together at the same table?
Yes, providing each ticket order form is completed by each couple/individual requesting the ticket(s) and the credit card information of each person requesting the ticket(s) is provided on each form. One person may not submit multiple forms with only their own credit card information.
What if I am serving Army and I submit my form on Monday February 3rd but I wish to sit with non-serving Army persons who can only submit on Tuesday Feb 4th? What do I do?
Submit your form on February 3rd and indicate on your form the name of the person(s) who will be submitting their form(s) on Feb 4th. In turn, they should indicate your name on their form so it can be cross-referenced. Do not submit a February 4th order form with your form on Feb 3rd. Please remember, however, that priority will be given to serving Army personnel and it may be that there will be insufficient tickets to fill all requests on February 4th.
Are persons holding Honourary appointments able to obtain tickets?
Yes. Whilst serving in the position Colonels Commandant, Colonels of the Regiment, Honourary Colonels and Honourary Lieutentant-Colonels may purchase two (2) tickets on Monday Feb 3rd for their personal use. Upon relinquishing the appointment those persons who were former CAF members (now retired) may purchase two (2) tickets on Tuesday Feb 4th.
Can I purchase extra tickets for family or friends?
Due to the fact that demand far exceeds ticket availability each year we are no longer able to accept additional ticket requests for family/friends of serving Army personnel. Priority continues to be to provide tickets to serving and retired personnel and CAF employees.
Will there be photographs taken?
Distinctive Foto Imaging will be on hand to provide you with a complimentary photo as a lasting memory of your evening. Ticket stub MUST be presented to receive your photo.
All photos will be available for pick up that evening at the photo booth. Additional group photos may be purchased at a price negotiated by you and the photographer.
